A SoftLayer não tem parado desde a fusão com o ThePlanet. Agora, a maior empresa privada de hospedagem do mundo escolheu Amsterdã para sua base européia e primeiro data center no velho continente. O investimento será de 75 milhões inicialmente na Holanda e nas operações européias, o que inclui Amsterdã, Londres e Frankfurt. Jonathan Wisler será o gerente geral de operações na Europa. A empresa irá contratar mais 25 profissionais para suprir as demandas do data center e de suporte.

 

Segundo Jonathan, a Holanda, apesar de pequena em comparação aos outros países, tem a infra-esrtutura de Internet bem avançada e uma cultura de empreendedores digitais - o ambiente perfeito para o lançamento da operações européias da SL.

 

Os serviços do data center devem passar a ser comercializados a partir do fim de outubro. Até o começo de novembro, a SL deve contar com 13 data centers ao redor do mundo.
